The #UK government will invest £53m into #digitalmanufacturing

The government will provide this funding to five new #researchcentres and #projects in a bid to help supply chains become more productive through #digitaltech.

The funding has been awarded through Made Smarter UK. This national programme is a collaboration between the public sector and the industry to support the development and use of emerging #technologies.

Each centre will focus on a different area of manufacturing, including:
Digital Medicines Manufacturing Research Centre
Research Centre for Smart, Collaborative Industrial #Robotics
Research Centre for Connected Factories
Materials Made Smarter Research Centre
People-Led #Digitalisation

In a statement, Investment Minister, Lord Gerry Grimstone, said: “As we embark on a digital manufacturing revolution, we want to make sure our manufacturers are bolstered by the latest cutting-edge technology as we all work to build back better from the pandemic.”
