PTA (Pakistan Telecom Authority) and NADRA working on multi-finger biometrics
PTA and NADRA are the Government owned entities who are struggling towards achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and its own ‘Vision 2025’ policy and for that a memorandum of understanding between the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has established collaboration on digital ID and biometrics.
The collaboration will cover work on digital identity, a multi-finger biometric verification system, and fraud detection and prevention capabilities, according to an announcement from the PTA.
The MoU states that the organizations will work together to build a coordination mechanism to align their work, as well as knowledge sharing and joint training sessions on relevant issues and technologies.
