Cabo Verde Ambition

The Cabo Verde government has a Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development (PEDS II) 2022 – 2026 which highlights the opportunities in sustainable tourism, renewable energy, blue and digital economies, and transportation.

The Government aims to generate 50 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and 100 percent by 2040. Diversification of the economy remains a priority, but high public debt, limit the government’s funding capacity.
