Cameroon’s Digitalization
Cameroon has been tipped by the Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA) as a country with the potential to serve as a digital hub for Central Africa. Cameroon, with relatively advanced digital infrastructure compared to regional peers, is the favourite tech hub host.
In its latest Data Governance Snapshot, the independent think tank notes that the ICT sector makes about 5% contribution to the country’s GDP, and there is room for further growth considering the economy’s expanding digital infrastructure. CSEA’s Digital Preparedness Index, which measures countries’ readiness for digital transformation, places Cameroon in the 26th position in Africa but ahead of its regional peers except for Gabon.

Cambodia’s Digitalization
Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has noted the rapid progress of the digitalisation in Cambodia in recent years. The digitalisation in Cambodia has progressed at a remarkable pace in the past years. The COVID-19 crisis has spurred the use of digital technology more than ever before,he said at the opening ceremony of the 1st Digital Government Forum.
The Premier continued that digital payments have reached some US$492 billion in 2023, about 16 times of GDP, while the number of registered mobile internet users and mobile subscribers has increased to more than 19 million last year.

Cape Verde’s Digital Revolution
The The Cape Verdean government intends to attract foreign investment and transform the country into a digital platform in Africa, by 2030, with the digital economy contributing 25% of GDP.
To achieve such a transformation, it is necessary to face challenges, despite favorable factors, such as high Internet penetration, stable electricity supply, literacy levels and existing digital content. The main challenges include preparing for cybersecurity and creating an ecosystem to deal with sensitive digital content, recognizes the Government.

Burkina Faso’s Digital Transformation
The World Bank approved the $150 million Digital Acceleration Project that seeks to improve access to infrastructure, public services, and digital skills in Burkina Faso.
This new operation will help expand digital connectivity and target several vulnerable populations such as internally displaced persons (IDPs) and rural communities excluded from essential public services. It will also accelerate the digital transformation of these public services, in particular those that have a strong impact on the public and involve such sectors as education, health, and social protection.

Bulgaria & China’s Partnership
Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Marieta Georgieva, participated in the 2024 World Digital Education Conference in China. She emphasized the importance of digitalization and teachers’ digital skills in the teaching and knowledge acquisition process. She discussed the Digital Backpack platform, highlighting its role in maintaining teachers’ digital qualifications and building a digital environment for the development of Bulgaria’s future thinkers, artists, and leaders.
In addition, She also met with China’s Education Minister. During her visit to Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen, she explored the corporation’s diverse solutions for digitalizing various social and economic sectors, with a particular focus on education and cybersecurity.

Brunei’s Digitalization
The Brunei telecommunications industry remains steadfast in its priorities to enhance the nation’s telecommunications network, products, and services, with an overarching purpose to elevate the internet experience for consumers and local businesses.
This initiative marks the second phase under the Fixed Broadband Uplift Program, demonstrating the commitment of the Brunei telecommunications industry to bolster the digitalization of Brunei’s economy. This initiative is aligned with the Digital Economy Masterplan 2024 and Wawasan Brunei 2035, aiming to transform Brunei into a Smart Nation.

The Review focuses on selected components of the framework according to the priorities expressed by Brazil.
Brazil has taken significant steps to enhance trust in the digital environment by strengthening digital security, personal data and consumer protection.

Botswana Accelerating Digital Agenda
Botswana continues its commitment to digital development with the launch of an online performance dashboard system, a collaborative effort between the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This platform provides an instant overview of key performance indicators, contributing to effective digital governance in the country.
Ranked among middle-income countries, Botswana has embraced an ambitious strategy called “SmartBots” to catalyze digital transformation across the economy, government, and society.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Digital Transformation
Digital transformation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is slowly gaining speed. Yet, its full potential remains largely untapped. Global practice shows that to build a public sector that is fit for the future, governments must “reinvent” themselves. Digital transformation is not just about new technologies, but requires an overhaul of organizational structures, work processes, skills, culture and mindset.
Based on this vision for public administrations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, UNDP and the the British Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina has signed the Memorandum of Understanding in September 2020, partnering up to support the digital transformation in the country.

The government of Chad, recognising the limitations of analogue broadcasting, has committed to a digital transition in alignment with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) standards.
This commitment was solidified with the ratification of the Geneva 06 Agreement, following the Regional Radiocommunication Conference in 2006. The agreement marked a significant milestone in our journey towards digital broadcasting, highlighting the need for energy-efficient technology and effective frequency management.
